” And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. ”
(1 John 4:16-17)
How can we expect to grow in our relationship with Christ if we are not attentive to the needs of others around us? God calls us to a higher standard of living. He’s asked us to love and consider others more than ourselves. This is a Christ like characteristic that we have to work on to develop. We must spend time in God’s presence to develop the type of spiritual maturity it takes to hold others needs at a higher priority than our own.
